                                    THE CHELTENHAM EXAMINER

The Society has produced a computer disc indexing nearly 50,000 references, taken from the "Cheltenham Examiner", a local newspaper which was published from 1839 to 1913.

Subjects range across all aspects of local life from the Leckhampton Hill Riots, the Union Workhouse and the River Chelt floods, to suicides at the Cloddymore railway crossing, the trams and demolished cottages in the way of the advancing Honeybourne Line.

Local historians searching for a particular aspect of Cheltenham life, may be interested to know that copies of this disc are held by the Society and for those with a smattering of spreadsheet skills, it is available online, through the Gloucestershire Archives site, -
